How to Build U.S. Credit From Scratch: A 90-Day Checklist

Building credit is usually a sequence of small, consistent actions—not an overnight score hack.

Days 1–30: establish the basics

Open appropriate banking accounts, keep identity documents secure, request only products you understand and check whether an existing international provider can help you transition.

Days 31–60: add one reporting account

If eligible, consider one well-matched credit-building product. Avoid several applications in a short period.

Days 61–90: monitor and automate

Set payment reminders or autopay, keep revolving balances low and review your reports for identity or reporting errors.
